 Orange Village, or Orange as locals call it, is a small village located in Eastern Cuyahoga County. It is considered one of the more affluent of Cleveland’s east side suburbs. In 2000, the population of Orange was 3,236. Orange shares a school district with neighboring Pepper Pike and Moreland Hills. While the Village of Orange consists mainly of homes and has very little business and industry, you can find everything you need nearby. The following information can be used as a great resouce for those living in Orange. 
Home values in Orange range from roughly $200,000-$650,00. The average sale price of a home in Orange in 2008 was $301,994 with the average market time being 90 days. Orange has a wide variety of housing including single-family homes, attached condominiums, and luxury free-standing cluster homes. Here are some of the popular developments in Orange are:
Orangewood – A very popular development of single-family homes with sidewalks. Homes here were built mainly from 1975-1985 and range in value from $275,000-$475,000. Orange Hill Estates – This is the most upscale development in Orange. Homes here were built from 1995-2005 with a few lots still remaining. Homes typically range here from $450,000 - $650,000. Condos Stonebrooke – A development of attached townhouses and cluster homes built in the mid 1990’s. Prices for these homes are in the $250,000-$300,000 range. A monthly maintenance fee is required. Landerwood Glen – Another townhome development is Landerwood Glen. These units were built mainly in the early to mid 1980’s and range in price mainly from $250,000- $350,000. A monthly maintenance fee is required. Villas of Orange – This is the newest townhome development with homes built within the last 10 years. Homes here are priced between $450,000-$500,000 on average.
Schools Brady Middle School is a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Orange High School is rated “excellent” by the Ohio State Department of Education, the highest rating given out by the state. It is known not only for its challenging curriculum, but also for its variety of interesting electives such as sports medicine, film, drama, and photography. The main contact information for the Orange City Schools is: Orange Village has a 52 acre park which includes nature preserves with a half mile of paved trails, two baseball fields with bleachers and back stops, an ice skating area, tether ball, volleyball, and two tot lots with picnic pavilions, tables and grills, as well as a newer municipal facility. The Orange Village Community Park’s playground is very popular with young children and is located off Pike Drive, just off Lander Road.
There are also great parks close to Orange. Nearby Solon offers great parks and playgrounds. Preston’s H.O.P.E. ( Helping Others Play and Enjoy ), located in nearby Beachwood, offers local children another alternative to the Orange Park playground. This particular playground is designed to allow children with a variety of disabilities to play with their families and other children, the first such playground in Northeast Ohio. The 60,000 square feet playground is packed with play structures on multiple levels connected by ramps. Activity panels with lively motion activated music are found throughout on walls, pathways, and on play structures. Nearby Beachwood also has a beautiful City Park which has 1.6 mi of trails perfect for bicycling, walking, and running. There is also a great playground located next door to the family aquatic center on Fairmount Boulevard. The Mandel Jewish Community Center of Cleveland (JCC) is a popular place to exercise indoors and out. They are in the process of a $15 million dollar renovation and expansion as well, which promises to give members a state of the art facility when the work is completed. The Cleveland Metroparks system is one of the most interconnected and extensive city park systems in the United States. The South Chagrin Reservation goes through parts of nearby Moreland Hills, Solon, and Bentleyville and offers great hiking, biking and bridle trails. There are also numerous private clubs located in close proximity to Orange as well that feature golf, tennis, and other activities.
Golf Beechmont Country Club Tennis Mayfield Village Racquet Club The Golf Dome, located in neighboring Chagrin Falls right next door to the Chagrin Cinemas, offers an indoor driving range that is open year round. They also have outdoor batting cages, miniature golf and offer summer camps. During the summer, Hiram House Camp is located just minutes away from Orange and is a very popular place for local children to go to summer camp. Here, kids get a feel for the real camp experience as they swim, go horseback ridding, hike, and canoeing. There are programs for children ages 5-11and the camp fills up very quickly. For those looking for a fine dining experience, there is an endless supply of fantastic culinary cuisine located in and around the Orange Village area. To start, Giovanni’s located in Beachwood offers upscale Italian food in a formal setting. Generous portions and creative desserts are the norm at Giovanni's and the service is as good as you’ll find. Moxie also located in Beachwood is consistently a great place to go for a great night out and is also a popular spot for all the movers and shakers during lunchtime. The atmosphere is upbeat and the crowd is usually loud and lively. Moxie’s sister restaurant Red Steakhouse is known by many to have the best steaks in town. Hyde Park Steakhouse located in Beachwood is consistently rated by the Zagat guide as one of the area’s best steakhouses, Marabella located in Pepper Pike is known for having outstanding Spanish food and Peppermint Tai Cuisine offers great Tai food and is located in Landerbrook Plaza in Pepper Pike. Eton Chagrin Blvd shopping center, located just outside of Orange, offers numerous great restaurants such as Pacific East Japanese Restaurant. Located right next door is Paladar, one of the area’s hottest restaurants. Paladar offers great atmosphere and a unique menu that you won’t find anywhere else. The food is a mix of Latin Caribbean and Cuban and is sure to please any palate. Paladar is a huge fan favorite of the Schuman Team. Beachwood Place Mall offers two of the most popular national restaurants in Maggiano’s and McCormick and Schmick’s. Maggiano’s offers upscale family style Italian food with great offerings and an atmosphere to match. Whether you go in a small group or sit down with a large gathering, bring your appetite because the portions are more than generous. McCormick and Schmick’s specialized in fresh seafood and offers just about every type of fish imaginable prepared just to your liking.
If you are looking for the best deli in the area, Corky and Lenny’s, located just outside Orange in Village Square Shopping Center in Woodmere, is famous for its food not only in Cleveland but throughout the country. Dignitaries, politicians and a lot of regular folks make a point to stop in to Corky and Lenny’s whenever they are in the neighborhood. In fact, many drive from far distances just to get a taste of one of the countries best delis. A great place for breakfast is The Original Pancake House located on Chagrin Boulevard. The portions are huge so go hungry. For a fun family experience, the Winking Lizard Tavern located in Bedford remains one of the most popular places to go as they offer great food at affordable prices and a fun atmosphere. While known for the award-winning bar-b-q sauce on their chicken and ribs, all of the food on their extensive menu is great. Plus, it is one of the most kid friendly restaurants in the area. They also offer multiple big screen TVs for watching sporting events and just about any kind of beer imaginable, so adults enjoy it just as much as the kids. Everybody loves the Winking Lizard and they also offer take-out and catering. While we have shown there is no shortage of great food in close proximity to Orange, those looking for a fine dining experience can also find some of the best dining around within a 20-30 minute drive. To start, The Leopard Restaurant, located inside the luxurious Bertram Inn in Aurora offers an award-winning menu and has won 5 consecutive 4-Diamond awards. Blue Canyon in Twinsburg offers a fine dining experience in a unique atmosphere inside and is one of the most popular places to dine in the summer as the outdoor patio and bar area is packed on most weekend evenings. Vue Restaurant and Downtown 140 in Hudson are both critically acclaimed restaurants providing a special night out of fine dining and wonderful atmosphere. Nearby Chagrin Falls is home to one the area’s finest restaurants. Gamekeeper’s Tavern is located in the heart of Chagrin Falls and offers cozy fireside dining along with an award winning outdoor courtyard. The great food, unique atmosphere and great service keep any patron coming back.
Orange Village is perfectly located near some of the best shopping in all of Northeastern Ohio. Whether you are looking for a major department store, a specialty store, or a quick bite to eat, everything you need can be found in or near Orange. Beachwood Place has long been considered northeast Ohio’s premier fashion destination for the best in shopping, entertainment and dining. Beachwood Place has anchor stores of Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Dillards, along with name brand stores, a food court, and restaurants for fine dining. La Place, located right next to Beachwood Place is a nice, small, upscale mall located in Beachwood. It has a nice selection of businesses such as Border’s Books, and restaurants such as Sushi Rock, a favorite hot spot, Melange, and Mitchell’s Ice Cream voted Cleveland’s best.
Grocery Shopping Grocery shopping is conveniently located just off Lander Circle at Heinens and for those looking for a place to get the best organic food, Trader Joes in Eaton and Wholefoods Market in Village Square Shopping Center are great options.
